Have I had a good semester?

In general this semester has been very great in which I have learned so much. For example, this subject of English has become fundamental and important for me, because in the past I didn’t have this closeness with the languages in general, I had just learned the study of English across the music or movies that I watch or hear. Because of this I considered that this semester have helped me well. Apart of that, what I have found it complex was focus me in one hundred percent to a one only discipline that maybe is not the one that I choose. For example, still cost me a lot the listening but I think that with practice I can overcome it.

Also in personal terms, academically I’ve done very well because to be my last year of university I asked do my thesis gradually and much more elaborate and I'm finally closing an important stage in my life and besides I have done a draft about my thesis in which I explain the proceed of this for example that I am working with the theme of the disappearance and secrecy in my work approaching from the political to the personal.

 Also I think that this semester I been more focus in my studies because I will finish soon so in terms of go out with friends I don’t go out much because of this intense semester. In other hand the thing that frustrates me is be against time when it is workshop, specifically dedicated me to the painting but well I think that this semester was a good one and I will remember so much like a necessary good.

What do you do to reduce the carbon footprint?

First of all I think that living in a sustainable condition with the environment by now should be a requirement more than a personal need. In other hand, the cultural environmental policies of the Chileans are very low, is a matter of see in the Street how people of any social class throw his garbage of the vehicles while this peoples are in streets or subways without worry about our own habitat. Is because of this that it should be much more rigorous the educational issue about teaching to the citizens in general. So the people that had the courage to learn about conditions more friendlies with the environment do this thing through of his own knowledge like internet, books or documentaries, but in public policies the truth is that are little.

In my case, I try to always use the recycling like a way of living. In my house for example, a couple of years ago that in my backyard it was built compost to put organic waste that mineralize the earth, after a few years we had to cover because it was a lot of accumulation but in my family the issue is always present. In fact, on winter we don’t light the stove unless it is electric because is more friendly with the environment, while in homes is still used paraffin like an effective way of heating. His level of carbon dioxide is as contaminants that lose the way. Maybe I’m not a fan of the bicycle, I rather use the public transport, but my older brother, uses the bicycle like a Daily transport vehicle. Rather when I can, I use the car but only in special occasions, I never uses in the daytime or in the rush hour traffic.

Well Irespect to inform to the citizens, I participate in several groups of animal and environmental defense, which they performing direct actions with the purpose of the community know that exist alternative media to the conventional to live the daytime. In regard to my animal policy, as I said in previous blogs, I’m vegetarian, because in addition of all the torture the animals have in his daytime, we must add that a person who eat meat, pollute the environment more than an industry because as to feed a cow it needed thousands of hectares of industrial soya for his feeding which is equivalent to six buses no catalytic.

Maybe what I like to do is maximize and descend the cost of the called “green energy”. This means that a rise in solar panels, focus in not approve policies like “alto del maipo” that damaging the most important ecologic reserve of Santiago as is the “cajon del maipo”, also take advantage of the wind energy and facilitate his installation. You don’t have to be a genius, here are vested interests. Large companies as “chilectra” or “aguas andinas” don’t want that we seek an alternative way because his business could be over. Reduce the carbon mark is important maybe with little changes every day; know how to use the water properly well. Not washing out teethes or wash the dishes and let the water run. Closed the water when is not used, maybe not have the lights on if it’s are not in use and be conscious that the water is fundamental, because there are people that before take a shower, turn on the water of the shower and then wait that the water is warm, lay out the water unreasonably. Also change eating habits and recycles as much as you can; it implies a commitment because the trash trunk at the end has everything join together, so for that we should go and deposit this remains separately.

Finally the society is lack of take this seriously; assume that if they don’t do something, today our children and grandsons will suffer a truly barbarity with respect of the earth gave us freely.  

Banks

I agree with banks are mean because once in my family we spent an economic rush for an university debt that my dad had with an X bank.

Over the years, the bank started to push to be paid the debt as soon as possible but with a charge very high that was almost impossible had that money, and having no solution, they sued my dad. With the years, despite of started paying installments, they decided confiscate the possessions of the holder of the debt to pay themselves. Fortunately that my dad was instructed about the issue and he knew exactly what day they would come and finally they took only a few things and the trial ended. Then, my father managed a better job and now with the debt update, they give him another bank account in other bank in which he is now. 

But sincerely the banks never loose, because for example for studied in a public university in where the education is expensive, I immediately, like many others partners, we going to have a debt in a future with a percent very high of charge.

While I’ve never directly borrowed money to the bank, the also give you a university card that supposedly is for the library and will pass between faculties of the same university, is financed by the Santander bank and is created automatically  an account view.

Is for this case that I personally have never had a problem with a cash machine, but I’m young and I still have to learn many things and take care of myself of this unfair system.

I feel that interest rates are excessively high, most in a country where the minimum salary is very low and adding that the ISAPRES and AFP discount an important percent to the gross salary, giving a very low salary.     

Facing Problems

• While in life we have always been full of problems or complications, I considered myself a guy that can be resolve things in a good way. But many times happen to me situations a little bit strange as the common of the people in which my reaction was impression. 

For example, I remember once that I have traveled to Ecuador with a friend and during the road to go there; we came up cross the border in a taxi from Peru to Ecuador. Maybe because we were inexperienced and foreigners, we didn’t know that taxis were more dangerous than Chilean taxis and his drivers unless they were certified, they could be criminals disguised as drivers. 

And so it was, already was getting dark, we got inside to the taxi that a policeman recommended us in which always we suspected.  Once inside and on the road to Ecuador, of nowhere gets in another guy that start to intimidate us and ask for money. Obviously the problem was intense and of major stress, because we had never lived a similar situation. 

Then the taxi driver headed to a vacant parking and there arrived a third guy which threatened us with a gun so we hand over our money to him. After of a struggle of words we agreed to give him $200 dollars everyone, with the condition that crossed us the border. 
After a while, they did it but left us there, only that they crossed us to the bordering country in an illegal way. Thus we have to get some Chilean consulate to explain the situation and legalize our papers in the Ecuadorian customs. Later of long hours and already late-night we could solve the problem of the consulate, and the Chilean embassy called us so that they could accept us in Ecuador. 


Maybe was a terrible experience, we get out without money but at least with our lives intact. Our way to resolve the problem was basically calling to the embassy of our country and wait for a solution.

My Future Job

When I started to study an artistic career, I know it that the occupational way it wouldn’t be easy altogether. But I have been always with clearly ideas. While the end of my career is coming, I think that having my own personal workshop would be ideal. Having a big production in the artistically and also in cultural management things. 

Generate projects that benefit me on my passion that is the painting and also the creation of an architectural alliance on historic restauration. I’m interested in all the audiovisual media production because in some way it was always closed to my interest. 

I think that nothing limits me to comply these purposes because I feel able and conscious to do it.

Obviously I wouldn’t like to work in an office but I would like to work indoor referring me to work in my workshop. At the same time I would like to work for a time in outdoor if is in the context of the restauration.  

I would love to work hard in my work because it is my passion and dedicate time to this could give me results.

I take painting because nowadays is the major that’s most despises in the contemporary art so for me this is a challenge.

My favorite movie

My favorite movie is “Mulholland Drive” 

by the American director David Lynch.

This movie is definitely one of my most favorite inside the cinema, because I love this director, I follow his steps for a long time and also because my brother has always been a big fan of good movies and in other hand my parents always taught me the artistic vision inside the cinema. When we were kids they always took us to diferent cinemas, as well as commercial movies as art films. Cinemas like “Normandie”, “El Biógrafo”, the extinction center of UC, the “alameda art cinema” and the now extinct “Aiep art cinema” which was located in the heart of providencia in Miguel Claro street therefore my relation with the seventh art has been intense.

I consider myself a big fan of cinema, and otherwise I’ve acquired a good criticism as I see any movie o documentary (I’m a good observer with the successes and readings in movies). So for me the cinema is fundamental and the filmmakers like Bergman, Kubrick, Lynch and the huge litter of European and argentine cinema have made my experience as a spectator wonderful.

Well, the movie I choose as a favorite (it was hard to get to this) is as I said “Mulholland Drive”, because is a very strange movie were is based in the history of a girl that wants to become in a Hollywood star, but in his journey happen very unusual and particular facts if I can say.

His protagonist make friend of a woman that arrives unintentionally to the apartment of the aunt of the protagonist, who borrowed his apartment in Los Ángeles for audition in Hollywood, with the course of this, it reveals that this weird woman that arriving to the house of the protagonist have a bag full of money and a blue key, with which start a story full of suspense and surrealism. 

Is my favorite movie because gather all the indecipherable human aspects of our unconscious and at the same time Lynch play with this.

      

My best holiday ever!

My best holiday was travel to  the stadium "La Bombonera" en Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2012, because was a epic trip for me and my friends.

I remember that we were there one week, but all travel was a odisea.

First, i traveled because my team Universidad de Chile  qualify for Copa Libertadores so me and my friends rent a bus and we went to Buenos Aires.

The history is very funny, but there was a moment very disgusting because the bus we rent was a very old so when we were going through the mountains, the snow entered by the windows. And on the top of the border crossing Los Libertadores was closed.

Finally when we arrived at Buenos Aires and all was wonderful, we went to a hostal and then we did a Night walk at Obelisco.

The next day, I visited the museum of fine art of Buenos Aires and I think that this museum is very interting because there are works of ellite artists of the world history like: Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Renoire and various famous artist of the impressionism age.

The next day was the day of the match so me and my friends walked to the Obelisco and we met there with all the fans of Universidad de Chile.

The best moment was arrive to the stadium, the euphoria was incredible.  for me was a unforgettable week.

About food...

The food is a very important topic in the different gouverment and countries, but the unhealthy food in general are fast food, for example: french fries, burger and food with very sugar.

In contrast the vegetarian food is very healthy, the salad and fruits are very necesary for us, because they contain more water and vitamin. 

In my opinion the food of Chile and Italy are the tastiest, because they flavors are varied, and the dishes are very elavorated. for example: in Chile the corns are very popular and it is my favorite food, specific "las humitas" and "pastel de choclo", too en Italy the food is tastiest, noodles and gnocchi are delicius.

In general my breakfast are nuts and juice, too tea and bread with avocado. I think tath the breakfast is very important because its the most energetic food.

When I'm sad I eat pizza or sweet things, but I don't make this habit always, i don't like  very much special things when I'm sad , rather it takes my hunger.

I thing that "Lasagna" is my best prepare dish. I make the best lasagna, a vegetarian lasagna. I use many vegetables and I like to make my own tomatoes sauce.

The typical meals of my country are "humitas" and "pastel de choclo" as I say before, also the "lentejas", "empanadas", "porotos" and other meals.

The strangest thing that I ever ate is the cow's tongue when I was a kid and it was disgusting. this was before i become vegetarian.

My favorite food is the "porotos with mazamorra. I love this dish.

and to finish, I really dislike to eat meat. no only by the taste also by an etic reason, because i thing that in this era we should have everything to follow a vegetarian diet because are the conditions to do it. kill animals by his taste is not in my logic. 

My favorite piece of technology

The Macbook Pro is my favorite piece of technology because is a fundamental tool of work for me.
with this tool I do as much as my audiovisual proyects like: videos, shorts, movies and digital photos.

The relationship that i have with the technology is fair and necessary. I don't abuse of his usefulness because with the time we have become dependients to the technology at the point that we have cut relationship with family or friendship in our lives.



When I was a kid I don't remember having a computer. In fact, in high school we have a computer class and with the time it was massifying. In these times, the technology helped me in my artistic development because there are many ways to generate new medios of art, So it is that the immediately is part of this. I can make a video and across of this advice I send by internet in senconds.

The programs that have the macbook pro are more distinguished than a normal computer.
I think this piece of modernity came to change a big part of the actual artist's life because the common and normal computers even if it have great functions, his capacity is much more limited.

A Country I'd Like To Visit

In fact there are many countries that I would like to visit. for example: China or Egypt but the country that I have always wanted to visit since i was a kid is Italy.

Perhaps this is because Italy is the country that have more admiration preserved of art in general. Also is a very pretty country with beautiful beaches and is the country of europe were the football fans are most similar to chile.

Also i would like to go to Sicilia because i’ve always been interested in the mafia research and i’ve always followed, i find it very interesting. 

Highlights in Italy includes sculptures, paintings, architectural and archaeological places.

There are many books and articles of classical painting just talking about the Italian work, from his beginnings to the contemporary art.

Personally, I would like to study in italy and his principal ways to deal with the paint across the history. From the polítical part or the public context.

• Well, I chose this article because I adhere to a vegetarian diet, which has been essencial in my development in the last 10 years. While this is my last year of college, it not been less the food subject because the hours of study from the point of view of what I practice have been many. 

• By having a workshop where paint is fundamental in my area, physical and mental exhaustion isn pretty, is why good nutrition is essential. 

• Maybe the part that most caught my attention was the all the protein that quinoa contains. It helped me to understand and learn things that I dont know, so the importance of this article.

• While there is no direct relation to my area of study as previously mentioned, the food issue has always seemed very interesting to me.
• Right now my artistic development in theory has to do with a view of sustainability and the environment, therefore all kind of elements that join me facilitate my task.

The best concert ever

The best concert that i saw was a “H2o”show in the dissapear and old  ‘Víctor jara’ warehouse located in the Brasil square in Santiago in the year 2006 . There, H2o, a band originaly from new York, united states and formed in 1994, perform for the first time in chile in that show. Also apart from this, i saw it ‘bad religion’ and ‘biohazard and it was incredible too but i was too young to enjoy everything.

H20 Live 

This bands belongs to the hardcore genre, so the atmosphere is amazing. Many jumps, singing aloud, flares and fireworks. This is an  intense and powerful experience and a real party too when you live this.

When H2o perform, it was insane. In fact, bands like ‘REO’ and ‘común y corriente’ were the bands that start this amazing atmosphere. I had like fifteen or sixteen years old, and i just remember that was a cold day and the atmosphere Inside the place was hot. In brief, this was a beautiful show that i will always remember. I considered myself addicted to live shows so every show that i went was amazing and enjoying. 

Pennywise, my favorite hardcore band

I listen hardcore since i was 10 years old because when i went in a artistic school, a parner of my brother in that school that also he was much older than me, gave me a cassette of “pennywise” and from that moment i fell in Love of the music so i remember him with Love because thanks to him i met the hardcore music and skate.

My dream job

In fact I always dreamed about being a great artist painting, and also being a important worldwide artist and then published a book in some future. But my ideal job would be working in my own workshop.


I have planed work 8 hour for day, also own my personal bussines and maybe have my shop or store or have more than a 1 store so that I could have a diferent shops or stores of diferent things. this shops could be related with clothing or with other things like renovated furnitures.

Also my dream since children was someday have an exhibition in the "Bienal de Venecia" in Italy.
I know that the posibilities are very hard, but, imposible is nothing, because I fell that I have a good investigation and work.

I'm not 100% sure, but I might could travel at Europe and know others areas related with art, like I'll like to work in areas of restauration of patriomonial historic because this have always catch my atention like how people in chile dont apreciate our historic patrimonial so I would like to propose proyects to the goberment about this theme.

My favorite dish

My favorite dish is “gnocchi with pesto” because my mother prepares every Saturday.  Maybe not a tradition, But over the time this become my favorite food. 

Now, I help my mother to cook this delicious dish. I like going to buy vegetables at the fair, then organize everything at home and get to cooking. 

Perhaps, my relationship with food has always been close because since more than 10 years I practice a vegetarian diet so I started cooking as a child. my mother taught how yo cook vegetarian dishes, how to use kitchen tools. Use the cooker  and oven and learn to cut and combine flavors.

My mother perfected his recipe practicing diferent ways everytime she Cook this dish for us. She also put his own touch in this.

• Gnocchi With pesto:

Well, first mi mom buy gnocchis, she dont make his own gnocchis because it takes more time cooking and is more easy the recipe, you have to make only the pesto sauce and boild the gnocchis.

So you make the sauce That is made of oliv oil, Garlic, basil leaves, salt and peper.

You put all this ingredients in a mixer and when you mixer Well, you boild the gnocchis. When the gnocchis are boild, you put it in a dish and then spread pesto sauce over the gnocchis.

I said my mom put his own touch because then over the gnocchis with the sauce, she put mushrooms and this touch make this dish so delicious. Also if you want, put a little of grated cheese and this taste only more good. 

So i recomend this dish so much because  when you ate this dish, you cant resist say something like: mmh this is so good!.

This frase is very real for me because an artist always wants to improve the work but this already seems finished.
I like paint because the expirience is amazing. I discover different things every day, draw is a learning tool for the new generations.

I think that the article is very interesting and real. But your focus is more from the bussines. For me, the bussines are important in life, beacause the future and sucess for an artist is fundamental.

In the future I would love to devote myself entirely to my passion for painting and I think that work in my worshop it would be ideal.

Now that I'm one months of graduation, I would like to start a business, open my shop and my own workshop beacause in Chile the art is this newly gained strength, also would like work in the restauration of cultural heritage, because for me, the cultural management is very important.
The possibilities are more difficult every day, this is why we have to move it.

My favorite cartoons as a kid

Although , when I was a kid I saw many cartoons , was rather between my pre adolescence , when I was taking more taste to them. in fact, my favorite cartoons were Warner Bros. I spent hours watching television and having so much fun with the adventures of his protagonists . While Bugs Bunny was the master with classic Loony Tunes , for me the Correcaminos 's changed my life cycle. In fact it was as addiction that produced me this cartoon, that I realized I had to wear glasses to see, because I saw so close the TV screen that I was hurting my eyes.

 
In Chile, television has not always been of low quality, I say this because when i was a child, children's programs had many more hours on the screen, and now, the TV series and programs of little culture as are called " shows realities " abound. Maybe today the cartoons are different but they are not that bad. In fact, there are one that I enjoy so much, it is South Park. I enjoy it because I like how this cartoons make jokes about the today's world. So, in general, if you see the cartoons of the past and now, there are many differences about how life is and how is changed what the kids see today.

I would like to learn to surf

I would like to learn to surf. this idea have been always in my mind, since I was a little boy. my grandparents have a house in the beach so I always go on holidays. I love swimming in the sea, I can spend hours inside. Maybe, the reason for learning to surf is for the love of the sea and the different extreme sports. I think that keep the control on my self is very important, This dicipline is very hard but not impossible. I tried Many times and i liked so much, but the time dedicated at this dicipline is high. it has Never been​ impossible for me to learn anything, it's just a matter of practice and perseverance.

 This sport have different difficulties. for example, I am not living in the beach and not always i have time and money. The weekend is ideal for me, but I'm not really dedicated to this and also the technicals are very hard. in the other hand i need balance and confidence in myself. 

Surf is a sport quite radical and at the same time beautiful. It has dificulties because it is practised inside the sea but at the same time this makes it more attractive. 

In Chile we have a long coast where it is possible to practise this sport.

Surf comes from Hawai but it has spread all over the world and even the best waves are in South America.

Soccer: 1980 or now a days team

The team soccer of Universidad de Chile in the 80' was broke for a institutional crisis because the team sport distanced of Universidad de Chile (central house), and the corporation was apart. All that produced the performance wasn't better. the titles don't come and team make over their capacities for win. I believe that today the team is better because the championship are more than before. His players have more control in situation of tension. That is the support always it's inconitional. I disagree that  the team of 80's was bad because his structure is made for greats players, for example: Manuel Pelegrini that now is one of the most important gentleman soccer of world. In my opinion Universidad de chile, is the most important team of the world, because is the only team that hasn't winner in 25 years is now the more pupular in my country. The great players of Chile born in this club, like: Marcelo Salas, Leonel Sanchez, Eduardo Vargas, Mauricio Pinilla, etc.
